Department of Physics
Introduction
The department of Physics was established from the inception of the college in 1990. Over the years, department of physics has established itself as leading department with unique teachers of innovative ideas. Major emphasis is given on hands on training, Industrial visits of the students. Each Student, of T.Y.B.Sc., is required to complete a project. The department has internet facility to support the needs of teacher and students.
The department has completed two minor research projects. One was funded by UGC and one by BCUD, the then University of Pune. The research activity of the department covers the areas such as synthesis of Nano materials, electrical characterization, survey of sound pollution, survey of Renewable energy sources etc. The research grants are made available from funding agencies like UGC and BCUD, SPPU, Pune.
Our students are recognized all over India & abroad for their excellence in science, Industry, education, Defense, Research & social work. The Department of Physics provides quality education & realizes its responsibilities towards society. We offer maximum optional subjects for academic flexibility of students. Our students participate in Avishkar research competition every year. To get exposure to our students at National Level, the Department conducts National Graduate Physics Examination (NGPE) every year in the month of January.
One of our past students Saima Nafees Akhlaque Ah. (Ph.D. from Zurich University, Switzerland) is presently working as Design Engineer at Netherlands.
